This May marks one year since I’ve taken over the blog and I must say, it’s been a pleasure. There are lots of amazing shows opening this month and next, so be sure to get these tickets before it’s too late!

 Ghost Light Studio debuts their production of “Pygmalion, Of a Fashion” this weekend, running May 5th-7th and May 12th-14th. This satirical retelling of the classic story of Pygmalion, by George Bernard Shaw, will have you crying laughing in some scenes and will tug right at your heartstrings in others. Written by Australian professor, Edwin Creely, “Pygmalion Of a Fashion” is the perfect Mothers Day, Cinco de Mayo, or date night production. If the show itself wasn’t exciting enough, GLS is partnering with The Mills-Pate Arts Center to perform in their first outdoor tented production venue!  Bravo Boro gears up for their next production, “Barefoot In The Park”. This production follows newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter. After a six day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic Velasco, where everything that can go wrong does. If we know anything about Bravo Boro, it’s that their shows are so full of life and their comedy never disappoints.  Consider This Theatre Co wraps up their first ever dinner theatre production of “Caper Elementary” a mystery play that unfolds before your tables. Let’s hope they keep up this fun trend with more dinner theatre options! Up next, they’ll be bringing you the hit Disney musical, “Beauty and The Beast”, running June 9th-11th, 16th–18th, and  23th–25th. This family friendly beloved musical is shaping up to be a stunning display of fun, laughter, and heartwarming musical numbers that we all love to sing along with time and time again. The Center For The Arts has recently undergone new management, but seems to keep their fire as they move swiftly along with their next hit show, “Shrek The Musical”. This production will be starring the talented Sophie Young as Fiona alongside new face Jake Ingrassia. With this talented duo this kid friendly and adult loved comedy musical is sure to spread across Middle TN. Up next is the exciting auditions for “Peter Pan” this May 8th and 9th!
