Rutherford Arts Alliance Offers Needs-Based Arts Scholarship Opportunity for K-12 Students

The Rutherford Arts Alliance has created a scholarship fund, initially funded by a grant from the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, to provide musical instruments/rentals, art supplies, & fees for economically disadvantaged students in grades K-12 in Rutherford County, Tennessee.

The purpose of the scholarship is to aid in the removal of some of the financial barriers that prevent students from participating in school arts programs, including but not limited to band, chorus, theater, visual, literary, culinary, graphic, and other media.


Important INFORMATION:

Scholarship applications for the 2025-2026 school year will be accepted from August 1st – September 1st. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. Application and instructions are below!

Scholarship awards are capped at $600, and students are eligible to apply once per school year. When awarded, funds will be paid/payable directly to the vendors providing the goods or services. Funds will not be made payable to teachers, students, or guardians.

Application Process/Instructions

  1. Parent/guardian downloads the fillable pdf application (using the button below), fills out applicable sections, sign and date (applications will not be accepted unless signed and dated by guardians, or student if over 18)

  2. Parent/guardian or student gives the application to the student’s current teacher.

  3. Teacher obtains verification of qualification for free or reduced lunch from principal.

  4. Teacher fills out remaining information.*

  5. Teacher emails application to jeff@rutherfordartsalliance.org before September 1st, 2025.

*by submitting the application, teacher affirms that the supplies or services requested are not available from the school.
