Minutes of Our May 2019 Meeting

A meeting of the Rutherford Arts Alliance was held May 14, 2019, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at the Lions Club building at Cannonsburgh in Murfreesboro. The Murfreesboro Art League hosted. Over 40 people were in attendance.

Ginny Togrye welcomed those in attendance and shared key points in recent RAA business:

  • Nominations are now being sought for new board members to begin service in July, following the 6 month term of the founding board members

  • The RAA will be hosting a collaborative art show at the City Hall Rotunda from October 1 through November 15. All genres are invited to submit by emailing Ginny at gtogrye (at) bellsouth.net.

  • Workshops in multiple genres are now being planned for the coming months and will be shared as more details become available.

Youth Council representatives Sarah Oppmann and Chase Loughry shared an update:

  • Little free libraries are being designed and built and will be installed on the Breezeway off the Greenway.

  • Youth are involved in conversations about possible mural projects in town
