Grant Propels RAA to the Next Level

On December 6, 2023, only days away from our fifth anniversary, the Rutherford Arts Alliance received a check that changes everything. We’re thrilled to announce that a grant of $45,000 from the Nashville-based Hays Foundation will support the hiring of our first parttime Executive Director.

Writer of the grant, Dr. Lucy Langworthy, explains the importance of this development:

We felt strongly that there was a connection between our work and the Hays Foundation, so, we contacted trustee of the Foundation Kevin Hickman, who was kind enough to meet with us two days before the deadline. It was clear that we had similar missions, as the Hays Foundation’s goal of ‘improving people’s lives through the arts’ aligns closely with RAA’s goal to ‘communicate the social and economic impact of the arts.’

The funds from the Hays Foundation are a game-changer for RAA. We can now hire someone to focus on tasks that our 11-member, all-volunteer board simply cannot work into their busy schedules—especially as our communities continue to grow in terms of arts events, organizations, and population.

For anyone interested in applying for this parttime position, watch the RAA’s website later in January for the job posting.
